As many of you are aware, due to the recent announcement of Section 232 tariffs of 25% on steel imports and 10% on aluminum imports into the US by President Trump, US steel and aluminum prices have quickly risen to the highest level since May 2011, levels much higher than what we had projected earlier in the year. At the same time, the state of the US trucking industry continues to face a growing shortage of drivers and increased regulation on driver hours, resulting in higher pricing to ship goods.
While we at Entrematic strive to reduce our costs with continuous improvements, we are not able to offset these recent cost escalations. Therefore, effective May 21, 2018, a 5.4% price increase on all Factory Direct and Door Center orders and a 10% increase on freight for Factory Direct orders will be implemented. Specifically, orders received on and after May 21, 2018 will have increases as noted below:
5.4% Price Increase on:
Amarr® residential and commercial sectional doors, sections, parts, options and accessories
Amarr commercial rolling sheet doors and commercial rolling slat doors and grilles
No Price Increase on:
Amarr, LiftMaster® and Linear® residential, commercial and gate operators, parts & accessories.
10% increase on freight:
Example calculation: Current freight rate of 7%. 10% increase results in a new 7.7% freight rate. (7% current freight rate x 10% increase = 0.7% + 7% = 7.7%)
For all orders placed prior to May 21, 2018, current published lead times apply.
###
Amarr’s last increase was 3.0% effective 01/26/2018. Source is the Dealer Memo dated 04/09/2018 by Lyle Symons who is VP of Sales and Marketing, Entrematic (Amarr).
We will honor proposals written prior to the manufacturers price increase for the time indicated at the bottom of the proposal (usually 45 days). Please contact us with any questions about how this may effect a proposal we have provided for your project.
Garage Door Co Repair Pros is still making pricing adjustments but expects to pass along most of this price increase. This will affect garage doors & parts sold in the Chicago, IL area as well as out of area requests. Please check our website at www.gdcorp.com for further details.
