Garage Door Co Repair Pros has learned that Amarr Garage Doors (an Entrematic company) is asking dealers to inspect hardware boxes for defective and cracked residential end hinges for the SafeGuard system #102122 and 102123. This includes all pinch resistant residential models including the Stratford, Heritage, Classica etc. The details came in a Quality Memo #03-16 dated 08/16/2016 as shown below:

August 16, 2016Amarr residential SafeGuard end hinges (items #102122 and #102123) manufactured between 7/15/16 and 8/12/16 may have a crack along the bend of the hinge, making them susceptible to easily breaking and causing serious door operation issues.
Due to the potential risk, you must immediately take the following action:
1. Inspect all inventory of Amarr residential SafeGuard hardware boxes that were manufactured between 7/15/16 and 8/12/16 for defective end hinges,
2. Determine the number of defective end hinges, and
3. Contact your local Door Center for replacement end hinges.All inventory at our manufacturing facilities has been inspected and any defective residential SafeGuard end hinges have been replaced. Our Door Centers are in process of inspecting and replacing any defective SafeGuard end hinges as well.
