We have been waiting for Liftmaster 855lm Homelink repeater modules since our post last fall.  Has anyone actually received stock on this product - and how well does it work?

Every time we try to order these they are on backorder (new date is 01/28/12) but there is no confirmation for Chamberlain that they will have enough stock on this date to fill the back orders.

Would appreciate feedback from any dealers which have tried the module.

As a side note-- any solutions to Cars2U compatibility (found in many GM vehicles) with new MyQ series openers. This would include any workarounds since Chamberlain says it is NOT compatible with the 855lm.

I posted this on another one of your blogs: All, I got the Homelink repeater today and went ahead and installed the Chamberlain HD920EV I got from Home Depot this evening. I assembled it and got it working on the ground just in case this Homelink repeater thing didn’t work out. I followed the instructions that came with the repeater and thank goodness it worked. I went ahead and removed the Genie 1500 that I’ve had to return previously and installed the Chamberlain. Once everything was installed, programming the Homelink buttons in the vehicles was easy. Something I noticed: The repeater instructions state that you should program your Homelink buttons with the included one button remote prior to plugging in the repeater itself. Well, I did it before and after with no ill effects. Also, the Homelink programs with a rolling code from the repeater remote. This was a concern as I did not know if the signal from the Homelink to the repeater was going to be either rolling code (encrypted) or plain (non encrypted). When you press the Homelink button, it flashes quickly in rolling code mode (310Mhz vice 315 or 390MHz). For those of you waiting for it to arrive, hope you get it soon.

Fernando: How did you actually program the homelink button? My led for the button I chose remains constant. Thank you.

Fernando: Did you follow the Homelink repeater instructions using the remote that came with the repeater (NOT the one which came with the new garage door system)? Instructions are on our website. You should follow the instructions in the owners manual of your automobile for how to program a remote to your Homelink system. Are you sure your automobile is Homelink and not Car2U or another system? The repeater is ONLY for Homelink systems. Hope this helps

Here's the trick with the repeater. It says to plug it in close to the garage door opener, but misses a key sentence. Do Not Plug It Into the same outlet as the opener. Plug it in elsewhere in the garage. My Lexus dealer called and figured that out for me. Once I moved it, it's worked perfectly.

The 855lm is only for Homelink NOT Car2U. Have you tried the Car2U repeater - you have to get it direct. Check wwww.learcar2u.com shows as $24.95.

We have two, 2012 vehicles and both came with the Lear, Car2U technology. Our new Chamberlain garage door opener with the MyQ system is incompatible with the Car2U technology. Although we don't have Homelink, it was advised by several sources to purchase the 855LM repeater. We did so and followed the programming process. Still doesn't recognize the coded signal. I quit! I am wondering if the 855LM is faulty since the small LED is flickering when plugged in and continues to flicker after being plugged in for, at least, an hour. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input. I'll look into it.
