Submitted by gdcorp on Sat, 02/06/2016 - 19:21

Garage Door Corporation has now had several Liftmaster model 8550w Myq belt drive with battery backup and wi-fi which are not recognized by the Liftmaster MyQ servers. The problem is that when a customer tries to setup MyQ for smart phone access (Android, IPhone, browser) one of the first steps after creating the online account is to enter your MyQ serial number. The Liftmaster server reports that it does not recognize the serial number entered. After checking with Liftmaster support in Tucson, AZ it was determined that this is a known problem which they are trying to resolve.

Liftmaster discontinues model 3280 belt drive - new 8355 MyQ is the replacement

Submitted by gdcorp on Thu, 04/25/2013 - 07:51

Garage Door Corporation has received an official announcement from Liftmaster (by Chamberlain) that the model 3280 1/2hp belt drive garage door opener has been discontinued. Rumors of this have been circulating for awhile but as seen below it is not official. In a move towards expanding the MyQ product line Liftmaster has replaced the model 3280 with the model 8355 which is a 1/2 hp belt drive with MyQ. The model 3280 was our most popular model since it was quieter than the chain drive (ie model 3255 or 3265) and was priced competitively.

Anyone have an 855lm Homelink repeater module from Liftmaster for MyQ?

Submitted by gdcorp on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 14:33

We have been waiting for Liftmaster 855lm Homelink repeater modules since our post last fall.  Has anyone actually received stock on this product - and how well does it work?

Every time we try to order these they are on backorder (new date is 01/28/12) but there is no confirmation for Chamberlain that they will have enough stock on this date to fill the back orders.

Would appreciate feedback from any dealers which have tried the module.

Liftmaster new models may not work with your Homelink in car remote

Submitted by gdcorp on Fri, 09/02/2011 - 07:05

The new Liftmaster models 8550 & 8360 require Homelink version 4 in your car in order to accept the signal from your built in car remote. Many cars 2009 and newer meet this requirement. However many of our customers have cars prior to 2009 which will require an adapter module from Liftmaster to work with these new systems - this adapter is NOT yet available. We are currently advising customers with older Homelink cars to wait on the purchase of the new systems until we can provide the adapter to work with your car.
